LalPac Working for Charity

Watch this space for the latest news on any new fundraising events in which we get involved.

LalPac got into the charity mood quite by accident..

In 2004 one of our ladies suggested a team enter the Marie Curie Ladies Driving Challenge. Say no more, three volunteers were immediately found, then four in 2005... and the rest as they say is history (see the results of past challenges below).

We all realise how lucky we all are at LalPac, and that small fund raising events can make a difference to people less fortunate than ourselves.

If you feel you would like to boost any of our fund raising efforts, we are always willing to take a cheque made out to the relevant charity. Some of our customers have already supported us in this way and we thank them for their generosity.

Bring Your Bear to Work Day Friday 25th June 2010

The last Friday of June saw our staff walking into the office with their bears.  Yes teddy bears!

The occasion, we were celebrating one of the most famous bear's birthday, Paddington.

Action Medical Reseach for children, for life, decided that Paddington was a good ambassador and encouraged people to have a Bring Your Bear to Work day.   Although it was primarily aimed at nursery schools, LalPac decided it was a fun thing to do.

The charity kindly donated a special toy Paddington which was raffled to raise funds.

We also had a “name that bear” competition.  Sharon kindly loaned her bear for a photo-shoot and his picture was circulated to staff with a request to guess his name.  When his name was revealed at the end of the day not one person had guessed he was called Henry, some of the more unusual suggestions were  Unbearable, Robin Caudelius Fredrico Equire the 3rd and Cross Eyes.

As it was the last Friday of the month we combined the day with dress down Friday and staff paid £1 per bear plus £1 for their jeans.  In total we raised £139. 92 for the charity.

For a small fee (which will be donated to the charity) we can reveal who brought the pink bear with a frilly dress and bows!!!!

Dress Down Fridays

After a break we are going to re-introduce this initiative which was suggested by one of our Technical Help Desk team. The idea; on selected Friday's throughout the year we are going to have to pay £1.00 for coming to work in our casual clothes. In order to benefit the most people a different charity would be nominated each time.
