LalPac - Remote Access via PDA
Simply put, this facility allows for remote access to up-to-date information from your LalPac database.
Up to the minute, real-time information from the authority's LalPac database
can be viewed
- by enforcement staff on the road
- as a reference at committee or in court
Whatever the situation, you can feel secure in the knowledge that you have absolutely current information at your fingertips.
With LalPac Enterprise installed, your LalPac records can be accessed remotely by field staff using a PDA equipped with a standard web browser. Live access to the office database can be achieved using the latest mobile telephony.
Security is entirely under your authority's control so can be determined by your own security policies and practice. Access to your LalPac database is set up by designated staff within your authority, who manage permissions, passwords and access levels for each individual.
Installation of LalPac Enterprise is a pre-requisite to make use of this facility.
The recommended minimum specification for a PDA to successfully access your LalPac database via LalPac Enterprise is:
- Minimum screen size: 320x480
- Minimum Windows Mobile 2003 Second Edition
- Version 4.21.1088 Windows Mobile
- Minimum CPU Speed: 266Mhz
- Minimum Memory: 64 Mb
- GPRS
If your PDA has an integral barcode reader and your licences have been bar-coded
then you can save yourself even more time by scanning the licence information
into your PDA using the bar code reader, rather than typing in a licence number.
